You were both very friendly too. We are now back in the UK – and have many happy memories of Rotorua. My parents and brother and me remember staying in a motel called the Silver Fern (when I was a child) – that’s why I booked to stay with you. However, I realised when I got there that it’s not the same place. I’m sure where we used to stay was on the corner of Fenton Street and Tui Street – it looks like the Golden Glow motel now. Really had a great time in New Zealand. I had a great time in Rotorua as well. Much credit goes to you for it. It was great to know that you were there to help us whenever we got stuck, be it scheduling our stay there, reaching the city centre, helping us with the taxis and helping us with the bookings for the trips there. "Silver Fern has been renovated recently and the rooms are great. I actually got to see most of the rooms as the hostess tooks us around to look at the Maori Artwork in the rooms, so I can tell you that all the rooms are great. It was very quiet (we were at the back in Suite 22), it was a 2 bedroom suite. The hosts were very helpful with information about the area, and what would be best for small children. "What a fantastic place to stay. The Silver Fern has clearly undergone
a big refurbishment recently and I couldn't have been more pleased with
our choice of hotel. I booked a 2 night package in an executive studio
which included breakfast. The room was tastefully decorated with beautiful
bed linens, a big comfy couch and a LCD TV and stereo as well as a heat
pump. It was a nice change to have quality toiletries in the bathroom
rather than the cheap ones you usually get in places. The big spa towels
were a bonus and the courtyard spa just added to a great experience.
Everything was spotless and it is very clear that the owners of the
Silver Fern take great pride in their hotel. Note we did stay in unit
8, not sure if every room has been upgraded but this room had. Top breakfast
too, definitely take the breakfast option if you are staying here, it's
